Basically Salesforce offers two types of relationship:

• One To Many Relationship
• Many To Many Relationship (Using the concept of Junction object)

Let’s consider the scenario that we want to establish a One to One relationship between two custom objects Student__c and Hostel_Allotement__c.

So, here are few ways to implement One To One relationship between two objects in Salesforce.

Solution : Using master- detail Relationship

1.Create master detail relationship on Hostel_Allotement__c to Student__c 

 

2.Create Roll up summary field on Student object with roll type as count.

 

3.Create Validation Rule on Student Object.
